MARKETING & OUTREACH COMMITTEE

Are you skilled at marketing campaigns and social media posts? Have a passion for outreach? Enjoy organizing social events? This would be a great committee for you!

We would love your help with any of the following:

  • Chorale & concert promotion
  • Community outreach for performance opportunities
  • Recruitment ideas for Chorale members

We’d love to expand our reach in our diverse Bloomington Community – this is a great opportunity to help us reach a broader audience. The Bloomington Pride event and performing at Friendship Village are examples of current outreach events that we would like to build upon. We will be actively working on this next year and would love to have your input and assistance.

FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE

Are you ready to join the “FUN”draising adventure? This is your chance to make a big impact while having fun! Whether you’re a whiz at ad and ticket sales, an event-planning enthusiast, or an organizational go-getter, we’d love to have you on our team.

We can use your help with any and all of the following:

  • Grant writing to secure essential funding
  • Event planning: perfect for anyone with nonprofit gala experience or creative ideas!
  • Sponsorship of or advertising with the Chorale

Why It Matters:

The Bloomington Chorale’s mission is to provide accessible, affordable, community-focused vocal performances and singing opportunities based on a seasonal variety of four-part choral music.

Our vision is to create a vibrant community of singers and music lovers connected through choral harmony. Through fundraising, we live out our core values:

  • Passion: We love singing together and sharing beautiful music with the community.
  • Connection: Choral singing brings us closer to the music, each other, and our audiences.
  • Community: We celebrate growth and diversity, succeeding together by sharing our talents and experiences.
  • Accessibility: We are a non-audition chorus, welcoming singers of all levels and backgrounds.

By joining our efforts, you’re not only helping us raise funds for vital initiatives like scholarships, but also ensuring the Chorale continues to grow as a space where everyone can experience the joy of singing.

MUSIC COMMITTEE

The music committee is responsible for working with the Artistic Director to set the performance themes and select music that fits within the theme for each season. This committee includes our Artistic Director, music librarian and one member from each section. It is a preference that the section leader fulfill the role, but if the leader is not able to, they can appoint a sectional representative.

Every member has the opportunity to suggest music for the Chorale – if you want to be more involved in the selection of the program, this is your opportunity! Use the Song Suggestion Box to provide your song and performance theme ideas!

PRODUCTION COMMITTEE

If you have AV or theatre set-up experience, have contacts in that space, or just love space design and setting up performance space – the Production Committee can really use your help!

In preparation for the spring concerts, we need help with:

  • Finalizing stage planning for concerts
  • Recruiting stagehands to help with setup and teardown
  • Running point with light & sound for dress rehearsals & performance dates
  • Managing video recording of concert(s) – Board will supply camera & tripod
  • Stage decoration – Board will supply flowers
